GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — News Channel Nebraska (NCN) will be shining a spotlight on some of the toughest cowboys and cowgirls in Nebraska during a holiday that celebrates hard work.

On Labor Day, NCN will broadcast the Nebraska High School Rodeo Association's (NHSRA) competition from the Nebraska State Fair live on statewide television.

This special broadcast will feature more than 100 of the state’s top young rodeo athletes competing in bull riding, goat tying, steer wrestling, pole bending, tie-down roping, bareback, breakaway, saddle bronc, team roping and barrel racing.

“We’re excited to shine a light on Nebraska’s student-athletes and the sport of rodeo,” said Brandon Aksamit, NCN executive director of sports content. “The State Fair is about celebrating Nebraska’s traditions, and we're looking forward to sharing the tradition of rodeo with viewers across the state.”

Coverage on Sept. 1 will start at 10 a.m. CT.

Viewers can watch the rodeo on TV or stream the coverage live on NewsChannelNebraska.com.
