KEARNEY, Neb. — The North team won the 67th annual Nebraska Shrine Bowl thanks to tough defense and balanced offense.

The North team took a 8-7 lead into halftime thanks to a 11-yard touchdown pass from Omaha Burke's Nate Collins to Omaha North's Conner O'Neill midway through the second quarter. 

Chadron's Quinn Bailey put the North up 15-7 with a 2-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter. 

Norfolk Catholic's Max Hammond hit two field goals (36 and 43 yards) to give the North a 28-14 lead midway through the fourth that allowed the North to hold on for the 28-21 win.

Omaha Skutt's Dylan Van Dyke threw for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns in the defeat. Two of the scores were to fellow Skutt Skyhawk Joe Kolega who had 8 receptions for 132 yards. Van Dyke's other TD toss was a 50-yarder to Hastings High's Chance Vertin.
