CLARKS, Neb.— A Nebraska high school basketball coach is being charged with 10 counts of possession of child porn. 

On May 14, Merrick County Sheriff’s Office seized Jonathon Scheerer-Hamm’s cell phone in regards to an investigation over an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old girl at High Plains Community Schools.

During interviews, the girl admitted to sending Scheerer-Hamm sexually explicit content through various social media platforms.

The Merrick County Sheriff’s Office served the search warrant of Scheerer-Hamm’s cell phone and found at least 493 separate files of child porn. The files were received from January to May of this year.

Scheerer-Hamm was taken into custody on May 27 and charged with ten counts of possession of child porn.

He will have a preliminary hearing on July 16.
