FAIRFIELD, Neb. – A new chapter will begin in the Sandy Creek Boys basketball program next winter with a new head coach.

Cole Wiseman is stepping down after four years at the helm of the Cougar boys and seven years with the school.

He posted a 63-40 record with two district final appearances.

According to Sandy Creek Athletic Director Matt Swartzendruber, Wiseman will be taking a teaching position in Crete next school year that includes him taking a football assistant coach role with the Cardinals.

"Cole did a tremendous job of being involved at Sandy Creek and helping shape our school culture into what it is today." said Swartzendruber.

Sandy Creek has hired their new boys basketball coach, which is Tyler Colvin from Columbus Lakeview high school.

Colvin was the boys basketball head coach for the Vikings the past seven years where he compiled a 41-96 record.

"I want to thank Tyler and his family for everything they have done for the Lakeview Community." said Lakeview AD Dan Krueger. "We wish him the very best as he continues his coaching career at Sandy Creek."

"We are excited to have Tyler coming in and the experience and knowledge he will bring here." said Swartzendruber.

Sandy Creek has made a district final in the past two basketball seasons.
