Blue Valley Community Action supports Childcare Providers with Infant Toddler Quality Initiative

BEATRICE, Neb -- Childcare providers in southeast Nebraska have an opportunity to improve their services at no cost, thanks to the Infant Toddler Quality Initiative offered by Blue Valley Community Action Partnership (BVCA).
The program, which supports both center-based and in-home daycare providers, offers one-on-one coaching, training, and financial incentives to enhance childcare environments.
“This program supports not only children but small businesses as well,” said Ben Schwartz, a representative from BVCA, during a recent interview on Today’s Best Country Ol’ Red 99.5. “And the best part? It’s completely free for providers to participate in.”
How the Program Works
The Infant Toddler Quality Initiative, led by Lisa Svoboda out of Beatrice, offers a structured approach to improving daycare services. Participants start with Option Three, which provides flexibility and access to benefits such as CPR training coverage while awaiting full enrollment.
From there, providers can move into Option One, which involves site visits, one-on-one coaching, and training to introduce elements of the Head Start program into their daycare. Option Two builds upon these improvements, offering additional support and resources.
At the end of each year, participating providers qualify for financial incentives, allowing them to purchase educational toys, kitchen supplies, and other daycare essentials.
Who Can Apply?
To enroll, daycare providers must meet a few basic requirements:
- Serve infants and toddlers
- Be licensed or working towards a license within the first year
Currently, five spots are available in the flexible Option Three phase.
