KIMBALL -- Kimball High School was crowded with FFA supporters Friday, February 28.

The annual dinner and labor auction is in support of FFA Chapter activities, travel expenses and registration fees.

FFA Chapter Advisor Monica Jensen estimated about 250 people were in attendance.

Chapter President Nolan Cook said Kimball students will be at the District competition this week. Areas of study include agronomy, biotechnology, environmental and natural resources, meats judging, and nursery landscape.

Cook said he got into FFA to get more acquainted with the agricultural industry. He wants to explore the options are and opportunities that are available in the agriculture industry.

"I hope to see myself in the future being a farmer like my dad," he said.

Jensen describes herself as a local resident who enjoys teaching the next generation about agriculture.

"I grew up here in Kimball, Neb. Actually, my dad is a farmer so I grew up in the Ag industry. I did 4-H and FFA all through high school and then I became an Ag teacher, and this is my fifth year of teaching Ag. I am super-excited and I'm happy to teach these kids about Ag and the industry and all the different opportunities and careers that they can have in agriculture even if they don't grow up on a farm," Jensen said.
