Motorcycle crash east of Sidney claims life of 46-year-old man
SIDNEY, Neb. — A motorcycle crash east of Sidney on Sunday night resulted in the death of a 46-year-old man, according to Cheyenne County Attorney Amber Horn.
Authorities say the man was traveling westbound on Highway 30 when he lost control while navigating a corner approximately two miles east of Sidney. He was ejected from the motorcycle upon impact. It's unclear if he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Emergency responders, including the Sidney Volunteer Fire Department, Sidney Regional Medical Center EMS, Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office and Nebraska State Patrol, were dispatched to the scene at 8:06 p.m. The eastbound lane of Highway 30 was temporarily closed while authorities worked the crash site.
The man was transported by ambulance to Sidney Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Officials have not yet released the victim’s name and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
