Johnson-Brock and Southern Move On in Subdistrict D1-1 BBB Tournament

JOHNSON, NE - The top-seeded Eagles of Johnson-Brock and the 3-seed of Southern punched their proverbial tickets to the Subdistrict D1-1 Boys Basketball Tournament title bout with wins on Tuesday, as heard on B103!
In the first semifinal of the evening, the Johnson-Brock guys cruised to a 66-34 win over Falls City-Sacred Heart. The Eagles held a huge advantage at the free throw line, going 22/26 there while the Irish were just 7/12. Camden Dalinghaus was a perfect 10/10 at the charity stripe and finished with 23 points. Austin Meyer & Brody Koehler each tossed in eleven points for JB. For FC-SH, Cole Taft was the lone player in double digits with 16. FC-SH ends the season with a record of 14-12.
The night wrapped up with a nailbiter between the two & three seeds. Pawnee City had knocked off Southern twice during regular season play in February, but Southern would end up finishing the night with the upset win this time, 53-52. The Indians missed chances at the FT line, where they hit only 50% (6/12). Southern ended up canning 11/16 at the stripe. The Raiders got 21 points from Cooper Warford, and a dozen from Alex Meece. PC was a two-man show, as Anthony King tossed in 21, and Jett Farwell turned in a double-double with 20 points & ten rebounds. The Indians' season closes out at 14-8.
Johnson-Brock will host Southern for the D1-1 Championship on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. on B103 and B103.FM!
