Sidney defeats Scottsbluff to win B8 subdistrict tournament

SIDNEY, Neb. — The Sidney Lady Raiders are heading to their 13th consecutive District Final after a 67-48 victory over Scottsbluff on Tuesday night.
Senior Kayla Westby led Sidney with a team-high 15 points, while juniors Lilee Wieser and Kierra Schrader each added 12 points. Schrader knocked down two three-pointers in the first quarter, helping the Raiders build an early lead. Senior Ryan Dillehay contributed nine points.
Sidney connected on three three-pointers and was efficient from the free throw line, shooting 9-of-12.
Scottsbluff kept pace early, led by senior Nini Gurrola and junior Ava Reed, who each scored 13 points. Junior Addy Bowlin also reached double figures with 12 points. The Lady Bearcats shot 6-of-9 from the free throw line.
With the win, Sidney improves to 21-4 and advances to the District Finals on Saturday, where they will compete for a trip to the NSAA Girls Basketball State Tournament. Scottsbluff falls to 13-12 and will await further seeding implications.
