SIDNEY – It was a workmanlike performance Monday afternoon by the top-seeded Sidney Lady Raiders at the Cabela’s Athletic Facility. Sidney steadily pulled away from the Alliance in the first semifinal of the B-8 Sub-District for a 67-24 win to advance to Tuesday’s championship game. It was the fourth meeting of the season between the two Western Conference foes, all ending in a 40+ point Lady Raider win.

The Bulldogs opened the game with a lot of energy, fueled by 10 first quarter points from senior guard Macey Seebohm. However, Sidney had seven players score in the period to lead 20-11 at the first break. The Lady Raiders held the Bulldogs without a field goal in the second quarter to outscore Alliance 14-2 to take control of the game. Sidney went to the locker room at intermission leading 34-13.

The Lady Raider defense continued to frustrate the Bulldogs in the second half, holding Alliance to single digits in each quarter. Sidney continued to pull away, eventually initiating the 40-ppoint running clock with on a Taylor Sprenger 3-pointer with 2:56 remaining in the game.

Every Sidney player scored in the game led by Kierra Schrader’s 11 points. Taylor Sprenger finished with 10 points. Macey Seebohm paced Alliance, scoring 14 of the Bulldogs 24 points.
