VALENTINE, Neb. - A Valentine man convicted of two felonies and two misdemeanors has been sentenced to prison.

Jason Rodgers, 49, was found guilty of second-degree assault, theft by unlawful taking, criminal mischief, and possession of a stolen firearm. On Friday, a judge sentenced him to a maximum of seven years in prison, with a minimum of three years on the assault charge. While he received additional prison time for the other charges, the sentences will run concurrently.

The charges stem from an Oct. 2023 incident in which authorities say Rodgers broke into a home, assaulted two people, and stole items, including a firearm
