HASTINGS, Neb. – For the second year in a row, Kayden Sipp stands atop the 140-pound weight class as a state wrestling champion.

The Junior concluded her perfect season with a 40-0 record and a win by major decision (8-0) against Kyra Hains of Lincoln East in the championship match.

"It felt really good tonight to be able to win my second title, and to be able to go undefeated this season felt awesome," said Sipp.

Sipp was one of a program record eight Patriots wrestlers that qualified for state this year.

Her teammate Khloe Wiseman took 3rd place at 115 after going 4-1 in the tournament.

"It was fun to be able to go and compete with them," said Sipp. "It feels really good to have them behind my back cheering me on, and me cheering them on as well."

The Patriots have no seniors on their wrestling roster, and will bring back their entire squad next year.
