Syracuse GBB Team Secures Spot in Subdistrict C1-1 Championship Game

LINCOLN, NE - The Syracuse Rockets used strong first and last quarters to advance in the Subdistrict C1-1 Tournament with a 45-41 win over the Falcons of Douglas County West on Wednesday, as heard on B103.
The Rockets launched to a 14-2 lead after the first quarter, but the Falcons soared back and grabbed a 24-20 lead at the break. That lead was trimmed to two as the teams hit the fourth quarter. In the final frame, Syracuse dropped in 19 points & held DC West to 13 for the narrow victory.
Syracuse was led by the five treys of Natalee Wemhoff, who had 19 points. Jayden Meyer helped out with 13. Bella Zach was the lone player in double digits for DC West with 19.
The Falcons' year ends with a 9-14 record, while Syracuse advances with a mark of 12-11. The Rockets look to deal Lincoln Christian its first loss of the season at 6 p.m. on Thursday in the Subdistrict C1-1 Finals. Tune in to hear the game again on Today's Best Country, B103.
