Interstate 80 eastbound reopened near Bushnell after Wednesday morning vehicle rollover
BUSHNELL, Neb. — A vehicle rollover involving a semi-tractor-trailer at mile marker 8 forced the closure of Interstate 80 eastbound near Bushnell, leaving a line of traffic stranded in cold temperatures as low as -7 degrees Wednesday morning.
The Nebraska Department of Transportation diverted traffic to Highway 30 while crews responded to the scene until approximately 7:30 a.m. when the road reopened.
At the time of the accident, NDOT reported roads were completely covered in snow after the latest winter storm dropped over two inches in Kimball County. However, the cause of the crash, the number of vehicles involved and potential injuries were not released at press time.
The Nebraska State Patrol, Kimball County Sheriff's office and Little Tornado Towing were among first responders to respond to the scene.
