Commissioners approve board appointments

SIDNEY -- The Cheyenne County Commissioners approved several people to volunteer boards Tuesday morning.
The commissioners met on Tuesday because Monday was a legal holiday, President's Day.
The commissioners confirmed Planning and Zoning Commission members, Fair Board members and a new member to the
"The terms of Nan McMillen (vice-chairperson), Val Nienheuser, and Ron Flohr, expired on December 31, 2024, and all three of the said that they would be willing to serve again. And their term would be from January 1 through Dec. 31, 2027," County Clerk Beth Fiegenschuh.
McMillen, Nienheuser and Flohr were approved to stay on the Planning and Zoning board.
The Cheyenne County Fair Board has three members whose term expired and sought to remain on the board: Mark Roelle, Zach Oliverius, and Ryan Filsinger.
"Terms of Mark Roelle, Zach Oliverius and Ryan Filsinger are up as of Dec. 31, 2024. And they all said that they would. It will be from Jan. 1, 2025 through Dec. 31, 2027," Fiegenschuh said.
Jaime Bright was on the agenda for the appointment of Taylor Wills to the Extension Board. Wills is the owner of Nebraska Realty in Sidney.
