COLUMBUS - With the season on the line, the Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Raiders surged late against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge for the 59-53 win on Monday night.

The Raiders (10-12) entered the game as the #4 seed in the Sub-district, while the Bears (12-11) held the #5 seed.

The back and forth first quarter was a sign for what was to come, as both teams traded baskets early. LCC did find a little momentum late in the quarter, leading by as many as 8 points. LVSS fought back and cut the deficit to 21-18 at the end of one.

The Raiders flipped the script in the second quarter, outscoring the Bears 19-8 thanks to incredible guard play by Neveah Vacha and a strong post presence by Jayde Kreifels.

LVSS took the lead into halftime 37-29.

The Raiders maintained the lead for the entire third quarter, but the Bears hit a few big shots to rally within 4 points.

Entering the fourth quarter, LVSS led LCC 45-41.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge sophomore Rena Rasmussen was not only stellar on the inside, but also knocked down the game-tying three pointer with four minutes to go in the contest.

Tied at 51, Keegan Francis continued her incredible second half and gave the Raiders the lead on a dribble-drive bucket.

As the Bears tried to battle back, the game was won at the free throw line and specifically by Miley Silva, who went 6-6 in the fourth quarter.

The shots were enough to extend the lead and advance LVSS over LCC with the 59-53 win.
