South Platte Secures Wins on Senior Night
BIG SPRINGS – The South Platte Blue Knights celebrated senior night, earning victories over Creek Valley on Friday night.
The Lady Blue Knights were led by senior Zaerihya Doncheske, who scored a game-high 20 points to propel South Platte to a commanding 61-17 win.
Sophomores contributed a combined 16 points, while sophomore Ella Stanley added eight.
South Platte shot 48% from the field, knocking down five three-pointers, collecting 27 steals, and pulling down 19 rebounds.
Creek Valley was led by sophomore Catherine Tilghman with seven points, followed by senior Ava Fraass with four.
The Storm recorded 14 rebounds and five steals in the contest.
In the boys’ matchup, South Platte secured a 56-44 victory, led by senior Joshua Estrada’s 18 points.
Senior Quinten Koenen followed with 16, and sophomore Conner Evans added 15.
The Blue Knights tallied 14 steals, hit six three-pointers, and shot 71% from the free-throw line, converting 10-of-14 attempts.
For Creek Valley, junior Lane Brenneman posted a team-high 19 points, while junior Mason Timm contributed 15.
The Storm held the rebounding edge, outpacing South Platte 35-24, and recorded 11 steals.
The Lady Blue Knights conclude the regular season at 17-6 and will face Sutherland on Tuesday. Creek Valley's girls finished 2-15 and will take on Minitare in the opening round of the D2-11 Sub-Districts. South Platte's boys finish at 13-9 as they prepare for Sub-Districts, while Creek Valley drops to 9-10 and will face Sutherland on Monday.
