NORFOLK, Neb. -- For the first time in Norfolk high school history, the girl Panthers are bowling state champions.

To claim the Class A title at Sun Valley Lanes, the Panthers went 4-0 in the best of a 5-baker format.

"It's an awesome day. It's an awesome experience. These girls are amazing," Michael Wright, Panther's bowling coach. "Having a police escort in town is something special. We really wanted to represent Norfolk well and bring home the state title. These girls work so hard and we're so proud of them. This has been a great, great day."

Upon returning home, they were met with a police escort, friends, and family to celebrate their monumental win.
