HARTINGTON - With a GNAC Championship on the line, the West Holt Huskies and Summerland Bobcats left it all on the court on Saturday night.

#3 Summerland (18-1) and West Holt (16-3) met for the first ever Greater Northeast Activities Conference title game and a rematch of a game earlier in the year where Summerland won by 3 points.

This game would be a little bit different though, as Lincoln Konrad, the Huskies double-double machine was out with an injury.

It was evident early that things would stay close throughout the game, as teams traded punches back and forth.

Summerland went with a strong drive the basket consistently, while West Holt approached the contest from the three-point line.

The Bobcats held a 15-13 lead after the first quarter, but the Huskies shot was falling in the first half. Andrew Rentschler was on fire, drilling four three's to help West Holt lead 28-27 at halftime.

Summerland exploded to start the third quarter, capped by strong performances from Preston Hoke and Alec Schindler. The Bobcats extended the lead to 14-points after Ryan Rifer hit a late third quarter three.

In the fourth, trailing by double-digits, the Huskies never quit. Zach Hooey played a big role in the paint to help the Huskies get second chance points and Drake Nemetz caught fire from the perimeter.

With under two minutes, a Nemetz three put the Huskies in front.

Summerland got a huge "and-one" with Preston Hoke helping the Bobcats take the lead back.

Trailing by two with under 25 seconds left, West Holt passed the ball to Mason Crumrine who stepped back and delivered the game-winning three pointer off the glass.

Leading with under 6 seconds in the contest, the Huskies held the Bobcats and earned the first ever GNAC title.

Andrew Rentschler scored 19 points for the Huskies, followed by 13 from Drake Nemetz and 11 from Mason Crumrine. Zach Hooey added 9.

Summerland was led by a 20-point showing from Preston Hoke. Alec Schindler scored 13 points in the loss.
