CLARINDA, IA - The Clarinda Cardinals & Glenwood Rams split a doubleheader on Clarinda's senior night Tuesday, as heard on B103.

The Cardinal ladies started the night with a 63-52 win. Clarinda started off strong, grabbing a 20-11 lead after the first quarter and holding on for the win. The Cards were led by the 23 points of Addison Wagoner, who tacked on nine rebounds. Kylie Meier was also in double figures with 17 points, but Carsen Wellhausen had the most jaw-dropping stat line. Wellhausen had seven points to go with 23 rebounds (12 offensive) and ten blocks! Clarinda moved above .500 with the win at 10-9, while Glenwood slipped to 4-14.

In the boys' battle, Clarinda got off to a good start, holding a 20-16 lead after the first frame, but Glenwood answered with strong second & third quarters for a 76-51 victory. The Rams canned 55% of their shots overall, while the Cards hit just 32%. Glenwood also held a big lead on the glass at 38-23. Ayden Gibson led the Rams with 19 points & ten rebounds, Drew Schroeder chipped in with 16, and Xavier Bowmaker sunk ten. Clarinda saw Kyle Wagoner hit for 13, while Sam Kline dropped in nine. The Rams improved to 14-4 with the win, while Clarinda dropped to 11-8.

Next up for Glenwood is a home doubleheader against St. Albert on Thursday, while Clarinda's girls host Nodaway Valley on Thursday before a DH next Monday, February 10, at Creston.
