CHADRON, Neb. – Dr. Robert Stack will serve as Chadron State softball's Interim Head Coach for the 2025 season, Chadron State athletic director Mannie Reinsch announced Monday.

Stack has been a math professor at Chadron State College for the past 26 years and was previously the Eagles' head softball coach from 2008-2017, winning RMAC Coach of the Year honors in 2014.

"I'm very thankful that Coach Stack has agreed to lead the Chadron State College Softball program for the 2025 season," Reinsch said. "His wealth of knowledge and passion for our program and student-athletes is unmatched. Coach Stack is a proven leader and I'm excited to see this program compete this spring under his direction."

After retiring from coaching in 2017, Stack returned to the dugout as a coaching assistant for the past two seasons, working with former CSC Head Coach Kaley Ness, who recently departed the Eagles for another coaching opportunity.

During Stack's head coaching career, he led an Eagles program that had not qualified for the RMAC Tournament prior to his tenure to four conference tournament appearances. Stack's teams set a new school record for wins in three of his last four seasons as coach (2014, 2016 and 2017), with the 32 wins by the 2017 team still standing as the program season high.

Stack has also mentored two RMAC Pitchers of the Year (Casey Williams in 2010 and Tayler Hall in 2016) as well as two RMAC All-Academic Players of the Year (Williams in 2009 and Cassie Humphrey in 2010) and a two-time RMAC Summit Award winner (Breeze Phillips in 2014 and 2016).

Joining Stack on staff in 2025 are coaching assistants and CSC softball alums Kayla Campuzano and Jessie Henchenski. Campuzano, who has been on staff at Chadron State since the 2019 season, ranks among the program's top five in several career offensive categories.

Henchenski joins the coaching staff this season after playing for the Eagles from 2021-2024. She earned an RMAC Gold Glove as an outfielder during her senior season last year.

Chadron State softball finished 12-38 during the 2024 season. Recently, the Eagles were picked to finish 10th in the RMAC in a preseason poll of the league's head coaches.

The Eagles are set to open the 2025 season on Friday, February 7, playing five games in three days at an invitational in Lubbock, Texas. Chadron State will open RMAC play the following week with a four-game series at CSU Pueblo on February 15-16, with CSC's home opener the week after against New Mexico Highlands on February 22-23.

Season-ticket and single-game packages are available now at chadroneagles.com/tickets. Season tickets are $50 per seat for adults and $25 for children, seniors and military members and will provide access to all 10 home softball competition dates.
