ATKINSON, Neb. — People interested in viewing the funeral for Jack Hoffman will be able to watch via livestream.

The Team Jack Foundation shared the link for the livestream, which will be hosted on the foundation’s YouTube page, on Friday. The funeral is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Atkinson Community Center.

Hoffman died on Wednesday at age 19 after a lengthy battle with brain cancer. He was first diagnosed when he was five years old in 2011.

Hoffman rose to prominence in 2013 when he scored a touchdown at the Nebraska football spring game. The moment won the 2013 ESPY Award for Best Moment in Sports. His friendship with star Husker running back Rex Burkhead helped draw attention to Team Jack, a nonprofit started by Hoffman's family that raises money for pediatric brain cancer research. The foundation has raised millions of dollars.

"Jack may no longer be with us in person, but his legacy lives on in the work of the Team Jack Foundation, in the lives of the children and families we've helped, and in the hope he gave to so many," the foundation said in a social media post. "While we mourn his passing, we also find comfort in knowing that Jack is now reunited with his father, Andy, in heaven. Jack Hoffman, you will always be our hero."

Hoffman was a freshman at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. He made the dean's list his first semester as a political science student.
