PIERCE, Neb. -- Law enforcement in northeast Nebraska said they responded to a fatal accident on Friday afternoon. 

The Pierce County Sheriff's Office responded to the accident around 2:10 p.m.They were notified by an iPhone notification of a possible accident that happened in rural Pierce County. 

When authorities arrived, they found that a Ford Ranger pickup, driven by 45-year-old Ryan Graverholt of Norfolk, had left the road and hit the power pole and rolled. 

Graverholt was said to have been thrown from the pickup and found dead at the scene.

The accident happened in an area east of 557 Ave. on 847 Road. 

The Sheriff's Office said it appeared that no seatbelts were in use, and icy roads contributed to the accident. 

Responding agencies were Hadar Fire and Rescue, the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, the Nebraska State Patrol, and Elkhorn Rural Public Power District.
