NEBRASKA CITY- Richardson and Pawnee counties were in a blizzard warning Sunday.

The snowstorm  closed all highways in northeast Kansas, including Interstate 70 from the Missouri State Line in Kansas City to Ellsworth County in Western Kansas.

Significant drifting was reported in Richardson County with some roads impassable. Nebraska 511 showed Highway 75 from Dawson to the Kansas line completely snow covered. Highway 6 from Rulo west to near DuBois was also snow covered. Rock Port, Mo., had 6.5 inches.

Nebraska 511 reported an overturned truck and semi-trailer on Interstate 80 near Elm Creek and multiple wrecks closed Interstate 80 near North Platte and 40 miles west of Kearney.

Brenner Field at Falls City reported snow beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday and again Sunday at 9 a.m. Freezing fog was reported through most of Sunday with wind gust of 32 mph.

Snowfall of four to six inches is reported in Richardson County and two to three inches at Tecumseh. 3.7 inches is reported east of Auburn with 1 inch at Nebraska City.

Richardson County deputies responded to vehicle in a ditch at 11 a.m. near Dawson. The Sheriff’s Office issued a do not travel advisory at 11:45 a.m.

There were multiple cars stuck by 3 p.m., including an elderly woman who had a blown out tire near the Nemaha River bridge. A vehicle with eight occupants was reported stuck on 641 Avenue. Sheriff's deputies were reporting that unplowed roads were impassable.

3 p.m. – Kansas officials announced that Highway 75 will be shut down all the way to Topeka.

The seven-day forecast has clearing tonight, sunny Monday and sunny to mostly clear through Wednesday.
