Lady Raiders Run Past Alliance

ALLIANCE – The Sidney Lady Raiders used a 19-0 run in the first half to take control of the game early on the way to a 61-18 win over Alliance Lady Bulldogs to start.

The Lady Raiders scored 23 points off of 26 Alliance turnovers, holding the Lady Bulldogs to single digit scoring in every quarter. Sidney’s defense beleaguered the Alliance offense all game recording 20 deflections, getting 14 steals, and blocking eight shots on the afternoon.

Every Lady Raider scored in the game paced by Carli Black’s 12 points. Regan Nesbitt came off the bench to chip in nine points for Sidney. Alliance was led by Macey Seebohm with eight points. Sidney improves to 7-3 on the season while Alliance falls to 0-9

Cold Second Half Shooting Dooms Red Raiders in First Loss

ALLIANCE - The Red Raiders got off to a great start Friday afternoon in Alliance, sprinting to a 19-4 lead to open the game. Although Sidney led by 15 points three times in the first half, Alliance clawed their way back to hand Sidney their first loss of the season 65-54.

Sidney hit 11 of 18 shots and outrebounded the Bulldogs 13-3 in the first quarter to hold a 25-12 advantage at the end of the period. But the Red Raiders shot only 26% for the rest of the game and struggled with foul trouble helping the Bulldogs claw their way back into the game. On the night, Sidney was whistled for 18 fouls while shooting just six free throws in four quarters of basketball.

Alek Doty led the Red Raiders with 19 points. Landon Riddle got Sidney off to their hot start, scoring 10 of his 17 points in the first quarter. Alliance was paced by Payton Boyer with 24 points while Espen Lanik chipped in 22 points for the Bulldogs. Sidney falls to 8-1 with the loss while Alliance improves to 7-3.
