TRENTON, Neb. — Authorities are searching for a Jeep Cherokee believed to have been involved in a break-in at the Dollar General in Trenton early Monday morning.

The Nebraska State Patrol and the Hitchcock County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred around 6:15 a.m. when the driver of an early 1990s Jeep Cherokee rammed the vehicle into the store’s front entrance.

Investigators described the suspect as wearing a black hoodie with a chest logo, a bandana covering their face and latex gloves.

The Jeep is reported to have an aftermarket front bumper and may have sustained front-end damage during the crash.

Officials are asking anyone with information about the vehicle or the suspect to contact 911 or the Nebraska State Patrol dispatch at 308-535-8047.

The investigation is ongoing.
