SCHUYLER, Neb. -- A Schuyler father was arrested for the alleged abuse of his child.
The Schuyler Police Department said officers with the Columbus Police Department were sent to the hospital for a report of suspected child abuse at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday.
Officials said a 5-week-old infant, from Schuyler, was brought to the hospital by a family member. The infant reportedly had injuries that were consistent with child abuse and was life-flighted to Omaha.
According to authorities, SPD arrested the infant's 39-year-old father for child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information can contact SPD or the Colfax County Attorney.
