MONROE, Neb. -- The Platte County Sheriff's Office is encouraging farmers in the surrounding areas to check their pivots. 

In a Facebook post made on Monday evening, the Sheriff's Office said they received information that they may have had some pivot wire thefts recently. 

It was announced that they are trying to catch the problem now rather than wait until the spring. 

The Sheriff's Office encourages people to pass the information on.
