SCHUYLER, Neb.-- There was a report of a large barn fire three miles north of Schuyler on Friday night.

Colfax County Sheriff's spokesperson Denise Kracl stated via text message that Schuyler Fire and Rescue were on the scene and requested backup from David City and Howells.

Schuyler Fire Department, Fire Chief Brad Sock told News Channel Nebraska that the fire was caused by an electrical issue within the barn.

Fire crews were on the scene for four hours putting out the fire, Captain Sock told NCN.

Captain Sock said that nobody was injured at the time of the fire, but the barn is considered a total loss.
