SCHUYLER --  What is the ingredient to a business surviving a pandemic? "It's just like the grandmothers -- they got their own seasoning and style but," Burrito House co-owner Luis Salinas shrugs off his recipes modestly, "To be honest, we just do it and that's it."

Critics would disagree. Both Yelp and 'Eat This, Not That' name these burritos the best in Nebraska. But reading reviews, one may note there's an emphasis on the friendly environment rather than taste.

"Mostly that they're so friendly they treat you like family," said Gale Rivas of Washington State.

The owners agree that creating a friendly atmosphere is by far their priority, rather than any special cooking.

"Even if we're tired we try to be positive," said Jose Salinas. "We try to make them have a good day." Customers coming in out of their doors when NCN stopped by all seemed to know the owners, who struck up conversations with each visitor.

"They just make you feel at home," Rivas said.
