Dodge County Sheriff set to retire in January

FREMONT, Neb. -- A sheriff in eastern Nebraska is looking to leave his post.

Dodge County Sheriff Steve Hespen submitted a letter to the Dodge County Board of Supervisors Wednesday morning announcing his retirement.

Hespen has worked in Dodge County for 34 years, including the past 15 as sheriff.

Hespen's retirement is effective January 28, 2022.
