Photos: Weather spotters confirm tornado in northwest Nebraska

Maria Baglieri shared photos of the tornado with News Channel Nebraska. She said she spotted the tornado on Highway 71 near Marsland. Marsland is 41 miles northwest of Alliance.

MARSLAND - A severe thunderstorm in the Nebraska Panhandle spawned a tornado northwest of Hemingford Thursday evening. 

The National Weather Service office in Cheyenne issued at tornado warning for north central Box Butte and southeast Dawes Counties at 5:45 p.m. 

The tornado was confirmed by weather spotters and was located over the Box Butte Dam at one point in the evening. Baseball size hail was also reported with the storm.
