COLUMBUS - Columbus police have arrested a 53-year-old man for sexual assault.

A CPD spokesman said the alleged abuse happened in early 2018 and that the alleged victim, who was 15 at the time, was considered a family friend.

Police arrested the man on Nov. 22. after they said they got information from a second-hand report from the state child abuse hotline.  He faces four counts of first degree sexual assault.

Police asked that News Channel Nebraska not release the man's name in order to protect the alleged victim's identity.
