CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A 29-year-old Cheyenne man has been arrested in connection with the theft of more than $8,000 worth of equipment from a semi-trailer, according to the Cheyenne Police Department.

Officers were dispatched Feb. 10 to the 2400 block of Etchepare Drive after employees reported a burglary involving a semi-trailer belonging to a contractor working with the U.S. Air Force. The trailer had been parked at the location while undergoing repairs.

When workers retrieved the trailer, they discovered it had been forced open and several items were missing, including a bag of tools and spools of copper cable.

Investigators reviewed security camera footage and determined the burglary occurred Jan. 30 at about 2 a.m. Video showed a red Chevrolet Traverse arriving at the property. A male suspect exited the vehicle, cut the lock on the trailer, loaded items into the vehicle and left the area.

Based on prior contacts, officers identified the suspect as 29-year-old Shane Crozier.

During the investigation, a Crime Prevention Officer used Flock Safety camera technology to locate a red Chevrolet matching the description of the suspect vehicle. Police said the license plate captured in the images was registered to a different vehicle.

Officers later located the suspect vehicle parked in the driveway of Crozier’s residence on Feb. 17. The Cheyenne Police Crime Prevention Team executed a search warrant at the home Feb. 20.

During the search, officers recovered items connected to the burglary and the license plate captured by the Flock camera system, which had been attached to another vehicle.

Crozier was arrested without incident.

The Cheyenne Police Department Detective Bureau continues to investigate the case.
