FC-SH advances to State Tourney over Leyton

FALLS CITY, NE - The Falls City-Sacred Heart boys basketball team secured a spot in the Class D2 State Tournament with a 67-50 win over the Leyton Warriors Monday, as heard on B103. Leyton ends the season at 17-6, while FC-SH now sits at 17-8. The Irish guys started the year at 5-7, but they've won 12 of their last 13 games & they are unbeaten against Class D1 & D2 teams (15-0).

Leyton held a narrow one-point lead after the first quarter, 10-9, but FC-SH heated up from downtown in the second quarter. The Irish hit seven 3-pointers in the second to build a 32-20 lead at the break. The team would end up canning 14 3-balls on the night. Bo Fletcher ended up with a game-high 30 points with five treys, while Cole Taft added six bombs and 23 points while reaching the 1,000-point mark in his FC-SH career. Calvin Borgmann & Kaleb Miller each dropped in 15 for Leyton.
