BRUSH, Colo. — A traffic stop in Brush led to the arrest of a Morgan County man and the seizure of narcotics and firearms following a multi-agency investigation, according to the Brush Police Department.

Officers with the Brush Police Department and the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office contacted a vehicle driven by Steven Hodge on Jan. 30, 2026, for traffic violations in the Brush area, police said.

During the stop, a K-9 unit from the Fort Morgan Police Department alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. Officers located narcotics in the vehicle and Hodge was placed under arrest.

Further investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Morgan County. The warrant was carried out with assistance from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Morgan Police Department, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, the 13th Judicial District Attorney’s Office and Northeast Regional SWAT.

Authorities said the search resulted in the seizure of several illicit firearms and a large quantity of narcotics, including methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl pills.

The investigation remains ongoing. Additional details will be released when appropriate, according to the department.
