BELDEN, Neb.-A man is dead, and a teen was flown to a hospital after a crash in northeast Nebraska Wednesday morning.

the Nebraska State Patrol says around 9:30 am on Wednesday they were called to a two-vehicle crash in Cedar county near Belden.

A preliminary investigation shows that a sedan traveling southbound on highway 57 failed to stop at a stop sign.

NSP says the sedan struck the side of a semi traveling westbound on Highway 20.

The driver of the sedan, identified as 72-year-old Philip Durham, of Coleridge, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A teenage passenger of the sedan has been flown to Children’s Hospital in Omaha with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

NSP says the driver of the semi was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
