'Sensory Night' is 1-3 p.m. December 13

SIDNEY -- The third annual "All Is Bright" Christmas tour starts November 30 at the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds.

Sidney's third All Is Bright Christmas experience is nearly ready for the public with volunteers committing sweat and hours in decorating trees and fine-tuning the walk-through experience.

Cheyenne County Tourism Director Kendra Mitchell came up with the idea. Each year, the focus of the tour changes.

"This year, All Is Bright we built a walk-through ginger bread house with the help of our friends Triple O's donating the lumber and the Sidney Art Club painting all the details on the house. We've had over 67 businesses, organizations and groups decorate Christmas trees and there's a tree-decorating contest," she said.

Mitchell said each person touring the All Is Bright will have the chance to vote on the trees.

This year's theme is close to Dr. Seuss and the "Whoville" experience. The ideas for each year's All Is Bright tour is a collaboration from Mitchell's volunteer committee.

"The ideas come from we usually have two committee meetings a year, and I have a core group of volunteers, and I just invite them to come to the office and we talk about what worked, what didn't work, ideas we heard from people at the event," she said.

All Is Bright is scheduled for 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. November 30, December 6-7, 13-14, and 20-22. Admission is free.
