SCOTTSBLUFF — Three people were injured Monday after a four-vehicle crash in the 900 block of 21st Avenue, according to the Scottsbluff Police Department.

Police said a juvenile female from Scottsbluff was driving a 2006 Jeep Commander southbound on 21st Avenue when she struck the rear of a 1995 Geo Prizm that had stopped to turn left into the Western Sugar property. The Prizm was driven by Leon Jelinek, 69, of Broadwater.

The impact pushed the Prizm across the center line into the path of a northbound 2016 GMC Sierra driven by Jessie Martinez, 41, of Gering. That collision forced the Sierra into the outside northbound lane, where it struck a 2017 Subaru Forester driven by Savian Marquez, 20, of Minatare.

Three drivers suffered minor injuries and were treated at Regional West Medical Center. Police said two of them were transported by ambulance. Citations are pending as the investigation continues.

The Jeep and Prizm were totaled. Damage to the Sierra was estimated at $3,000, while the Forester sustained about $1,500 in damage. All four vehicles required towing.

21st Avenue between East Overland and East Seventh Street was closed for about an hour. Scottsbluff Fire Department and Regional West Ambulance assisted at the scene.
