Thomalla's 7 TDs leads Millard South to semifinal victory over Westside
OMAHA, Neb. — Millard South dominated the one team in the state that had the best chance to slow them down on Friday night.
Senior quarterback Jett Thomalla led the Patriots to a 62-21 victory over top-seeded Omaha Westside, throwing for seven touchdowns and more than 450 yards.
The Alabama commit tied a Class A playoff passing touchdown record. Four different receivers eclipsed 100 yards receiving, including Owen Zech who hauled in three touchdowns on 116 yards receiving. Isaac Jensen had 120 yards and a touchdown, Amarion Jackson had 107 yards and a touchdown and Dallas Gaius had 101 yards and two touchdowns.
Mo Purify II hauled in two touchdowns for Omaha Westside in the defeat while Tay Tay Jenkins scored the other Warriors touchdown on a 69-yard pass from Braylon Warren before halftime.
Millard South will face Papillion-La Vista South in the Class A state final on Tuesday, Nov. 25.
