NCN to televise Omaha Westside vs. Millard South, battle of Class A powerhouses

OMAHA — The biggest high school football game of the season is coming to News Channel Nebraska.
NCN will broadcast Omaha Westside vs. Millard South in the Class A semifinals on Friday, with coverage starting at 7 p.m. and kickoff at 7:07.
It’s a rematch of last year’s state championship, which Millard South won 27–10. The Patriots and Warriors have been ranked as the top two teams in the state for the entirety of the past two seasons and have combined to win the last three Class A state titles.
“This game features the two top programs in the state with some of the greatest collections of talent in state history,” said Michael Shively, Vice President of News and Content. “This type of matchup deserves to be shown on statewide TV and we are thrilled to be able to provide that to Nebraskans.”
A sellout crowd is expected at Westside High School, with several college scouts likely in attendance. At least 17 players have Division I scholarship offers.
News Channel Nebraska is available on many statewide providers including Allo, Cox, DISH and Spectrum. In Omaha, people can watch NCN on Cox channel 116, Great Plains Communications channel 28 and over the air via antenna on channel 27.
You can stream NCN’s broadcast on the NFHS Network website and app with a subscription.
NCN Executive Director of Sports Content Brandon Aksamit will serve as play-by-play announcer with Andy Classen joining as color announcer. Jake Bartecki will serve as sideline reporter.
"This is the game that every Nebraska high school football fan should want to watch," said Aksamit. "You've got the two best teams in Class A clashing in the semifinals. Millard South has been an unstoppable force all season. If any team in Nebraska has a shot at challenging the Patriots, it's Omaha Westside."
NCN broadcasts more than 200 live events every year, many of them high school games, making NCN the most prolific high school sports broadcaster in the state.
The network will also televise the Class C-1 state semifinal between #2 Columbus Lakeview and #3 Sidney, beginning at 5:00 p.m. CT.
