LINCOLN, Neb. - The Freeman Falcons are state champions. 

Freeman topped Laurel-Concord-Coleridge in four sets (25-13, 16-25, 25-18, 29-27) to win their first volleyball title since 2014. It's Freeman's first title in any sport since boys basketball in 2023. 

Senior Alicia Johansen put an exclamation point on her career recording a match high 19 kills and 14 digs - she also added three blocks. She was followed in kills by LCC's Rena Rasmussen with 17 kills. 

The Falcons outlasted the Bears in a marathon fourth set to secure the crown.
