Stanton voters narrowly reject school bond
The Stanton school bond for more than $28 million narrowly failed Tuesday by just 33 votes — a margin of less than 4% among those who cast ballots.

STANTON, Neb. — The Stanton school bond for more than $28 million narrowly failed Tuesday by just 33 votes — a margin of less than 4% among those who cast ballots.
According to unofficial results from the Stanton County Election Commission, 438 voters opposed the measure, while 405 supported it. The bond would have funded construction of a new pre-kindergarten through sixth-grade school.
Roughly 53% of Stanton’s 1,600 registered voters participated in the election.
The Election Commission plans to double-check ballots during the official canvass, which is scheduled for next Wednesday at 10 a.m.
