News Channel Nebraska is proud to announce the addition of two accomplished Nebraska broadcasting professionals to its leadership team.

Amy Biehl-Owens and Gail Wightman recently joined the company, bringing more than 50 years of combined experience in media, marketing, and communications.

“Adding Amy and Gail to our team demonstrates News Channel Nebraska’s commitment to serving our communities,” CEO Andy Ruback said. “Their deep connections to rural Nebraska and the agriculture industry will strengthen our ability to serve those audiences.”

Biehl-Owens joins NCN as Vice President of Ag, where she will help lead and expand the network’s agricultural presence across all platforms. Born and raised on a farm and ranch in Dawson County, she understands production agriculture firsthand, with her family still active in farming today. She brings more than 30 years of media experience, including 26 years focused on ag marketing and communications.

She has also served on several boards, including the National Association of Farm Broadcasters, local YMCAs, and the Lexington Chamber of Commerce. Biehl-Owens and her husband, Toby Owens, live in rural Lexington with their two children.

Wightman joins NCN as a company Vice President with a focus on rural areas and digital marketing. She brings more than 20 years of marketing, communications, and sales experience, most recently serving as Marketing and Sales Manager at KRVN. Based in Lexington, her role will have a national scope—bringing operational strength, innovation, and leadership to NCN’s efforts.

Outside of work, Wightman enjoys travel, reading, and music. Her favorite place to be is on her boat with her husband, two daughters, and friends.
