LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska will head to a bowl game for the second year in a row.
Nebraska topped Northwestern 28-21 on Saturday afternoon, to improve to 6-2 on the year. It was the eleventh time in the last 14 contests a battle between the Huskers and Wildcats was decided by one score.
The Huskers led 7-6 at the half, before jumping out to a 21-6 lead in the third quarter on a 94-yard kick return touchdown by Kenneth Williams and a touchdown grab by Nyziah Hunter.
However, Northwestern would claw their way back to tie the game in the fourth, but Emmett Johnson would score the tie-breaking touchdown to give Nebraska the win.
Nebraska returns to action next Saturday night to host USC at 6:30 pm CT.
