LINCOLN — 8-man football teams in Nebraska now know what the road to Lincoln looks like.

The Nebraska School Activities Association released the playoff brackets for Classes D-1 and D-2 on Saturday. The 11-man and 6-man classes still have one week left in the regular season.

Previously, the 8-Man playoffs featured a 16-team west bracket and 16-team east bracket for the opening round. The playoffs would be re-seeded for a statewide tournament after the opening round. The NSAA scrapped that method and now has the playoffs seeded 1-32 regardless of geography. The team’s seed is determined by power points.

The playoffs are made up of nine or 10 district champions and the 22 or 23 teams with the highest regular season power point average that did not finish as district champions.

In every round, the host school will be the team with the better seed.

The championship games will be played on Monday, Nov. 24 at Memorial Stadium.
