New convenience store opens in Gordon, with plans to expand offerings

GORDON, Neb. — A new convenience store is holding a soft opening in Gordon as it prepares to expand its products and services. Rowdy’s Gas and Grub is now open in the former Highway Express building at the intersection of Main Street and Highway 20. The business is owned by Bat Pourier, Brianna Moon, and Rowdy Moon.

The owners have already upgraded the existing gas pumps and plan to add four more, bringing the total to eight. They also plan to offer both green and red diesel.
Right now, customers can find Pepsi products, drip coffee, and snacks inside. But more upgrades are on the way.
“We ultimately plan to put in a kitchen, but in the meantime, we’re trying to expand the offerings that we can,” said manager Richae Malara.
Those new offerings tentatively include a fancier coffee machine, popcorn machine, hot dog rollers, and a nacho stand. Malara says the team also plans to add gaming machines like Pac-Man and a walk-in beer cooler once the State approves their liquor license.
Until then, Rowdy’s hours will be limited from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., with plans to stay open later once the license is approved.
“It’s great to have big-hearted people who are ready to serve this community and expand services,” Malara said.
