Heartland United gives out $50K to 3 lucky donators

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Heartland United is giving out $50,000 in donations during the holiday season.
Every year the citizens of Hall, Hamilton, Howard, & Merrick counties turn in gifts to Heartland United Way. The gifts provide opportunities for kids, financial security for families, and healthier communities.
This year people who donate at least $312, $6 a week, will qualify to win. The donation is made possible by campaign chairs Kent and Tonja Brown.
The couple said they have always given their time and resources to support the Heartland United Way, believing the agencies are meaningful.
“We have been so blessed by this community, and it was time to give back," the Browns said in a news release.
The Browns say they hope their gift will inspire others to unite and give back too.
Starting November 24, the Heartland United Way plans to randomly select 24 winners to be announced on the Heartland United Ways' Facebook, KRGI's 1430 AM, and Local4 Midday.
The 25th winner will be selected during the company’s $50,000 giveaway at Raising Nebraska on December 16th. Of the 25 winners, three will receive $5,000, $15,000, and $30,000 respectively.
The $50K Giveaway continues a spirit of generosity established by Tom and Kim Dinsdale during the 25 Keys of Christmas.
