School’s back in session and so is the heat
Triple digit heat indexes are in store for most of Nebraska this weekend.

Triple digit heat indexes are in store for most of Nebraska this weekend.
According to the National Weather Service there is a heat advisory in effect for portions of eastern Nebraska from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
On Friday heat indexes of around 105 F are expected.
Higher indexes expected in the southeastern portion of the state, with Hebron heating up to 107 F.
Saturday is expected to have heat indexes of around 107 F, Omaha is likely to have indexes of 109 F.
The NWS has said that there a major heat risk for portions of eastern Nebraska on Friday and all of eastern Nebraska on Saturday.
Major heat risk means it is “DANGEROUS for most people without proper hydration and adequate cooling.” according to the NWS.
