NORFOLK, Neb.- Two golfers will compete in the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship after a qualifier in Norfolk.

Out of a field of 61 golfers, only two earned qualification for the tournament.

This year, Nick Arman of Cave Creek, Arizona, and Ryan Nietfeldt of Elkhorn, Nebraska, secured their spots in the Mid-Am, which is the premier tournament for amateurs older than 25.

Arman shot an impressive seven-under, while Nietfeldt followed closely at six-under.

“I’m really happy and proud I put it all together,” said Nietfeldt, who will be making his third appearance in the championship.

Arman and Nietfeldt are set to compete at Troon Country Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. The tournament takes place from September 13th to 18th.

This was the first U.S. Mid-Am qualifier at Norfolk Country Club since 2014.
